The Cornell Ballroom Dance Club puts on a plethora of events every year. A quick summary:

Social Dance ("Club Ballroom"):

In general, we try to have a social dance once every two weeks. They are usually held on Saturday nights in the Helen Newman Dance Studio.

Social Ball:

We try to put on two social balls each semester. They are usually themed. In October we have a Halloween Ball. In December, a winter ball (in 2000 we had a Beach Ball to distract everyone from Ithaca's cold...). We traditionally hold a Valentines' Day Ball and Spring Ball as well.

Lesson:

Our lessons are usually at a fixed time (see the classes page). We also occasionally may offer a special free introductory lesson, especially near the beginning of each semester during orientation periods. Such unusual lessons will be listed on the front page.

Lessons are club members' main source of instruction.

Performance:

Sometimes (again, often during orientation) we will offer performances or demonstrations to get people psyched about dancing with us! Come watch and cheer us on!

Competition:

The Cornell DanceSport Team holds an annual intercollegiate ballroom competition called the Cornell DanceSport Spectacular. It is attended by teams from universities all over the Northeast and Mid-Atlantic.
